VASA FITNESS GYM ETIQUETTE 101

Jan. 12, 2015 / VASA Fitness
gym etiquette

So here are some of the basic principles that everyone should uphold and respect while at the gym.

1- RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHTS

We are all grown-ups here. We can clean after ourselves. Other people aren’t our mothers… On a more serious note, please be considerate of others and re-rack after yourself.

2- WIPE THE EQUIPMENT OFF AFTER YOU USE IT.

We have sanitizing wipes dispensers throughout our facilities so you can wipe your sweat off the machine. No one likes working out on a pool of sweat.

3- DON’T HOG THE EQUIPMENT BY SITTING DOWN AND TALKING ON YOUR CELLPHONE.

Others may be waiting for the machine you are using. Also, to have an effective workout, you gotta keep moving. Sitting down talking on your cellphone is also hurting your own workout.

4- DON’T DROP YOUR WEIGHTS.

It’s just unsafe, it may break the equipment, your foot, or scare people off. Bottomline, it’s not allowed in our gym.

5- MIND WHERE YOU GO

Doing heavy weights in the aerobics room or cardio in the sauna are terrible ideas. The gym has designated areas for different activities for a reason. Don’t be the #GymFails featured person. It’s just not cool and unsafe for everyone around, including yourself.

Now that we have the basics, what are some other things you can think of? Share your thoughts below.
